Qualified candidate would lead in the set-up and preparation of laboratory and cGMP production work. Primary responsibilities include development of lead formulations, setting up R&D stability studies, evaluating physical properties of formulations and interpreting data. Documents laboratory work in compliance with company policies, government regulations and prepares draft documents and technical reports. Provides written reports for the completed tasks. Assists in FPD project planning. Recommends experimental design and laboratory troubleshooting. Supervises technicians when necessary. Activer leadership in method development/validation and cleaning validation.
Primary Responsibilities/Functions:
Leads specific laboratory and manufacturing operations
Develops process and performs complex laboratory and manufacturing operations.
Trains technicians/ junior chemists
Sets up and performs maintenance of formulation apparatus and manufacturing equipment
Identifies problems during compounding and manufacturing and recommends solutions
Recommends formulation development study design and assists in project planning and project specific budgeting activities
Drafts written communications with both external and/or internal customers
Tracks inventory and directs technicians in requesting batch materials and recording receipts of the same
Directs technicians in ensuring restocking, waste disposal and safety procedures
Provides evaluation of laboratory data with recommendations.
Develops experimental protocols including R&D stability protocols
Effectively communicates with supervisors and project managers on project status and problems encountered
Documents work in compliance with HPI procedures and Government regulations
Trains technicians
Performs peer review of data for other staff members
Provides training, supervision and scheduling assistance for Technicians
